Description

The course combines theoretical presentations, discussion forums and practical examples of documentary research linked to different disciplines.

The course will present:

• An overview of available documentary resources (at ULiège and elsewhere);
• The challenges of open access to scientific literature;
• A general methodology for effective documentary research.

Objectives

On completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Identify the main sources of information related to their discipline;
• Use the appropriate documentary tools made available to them by the institution and outside;
• Build an effective information search strategy;
• Evaluate the quality and relevance of the information gathered.

Finally, participants will learn about Open Access and its challenges.
