Description

Prior to the training session, participants will have familiarized themselves with the tutorial presenting the tool's basic functions (the appropriate link will be provided). The trainers will quickly return to these aspects if clarification is required. The session will then focus on practical aspects. Based on their research project, participants will be able to choose a DMP template to fill in, and try their hand at the process. Interaction will both answer technical questions linked to the use of DMPonline.be and guide participants through the specific issues involved in managing their research data (formats, backups, access, legal aspects, open data, etc.).

Objectives

More and more research funding agencies and institutions are asking researchers to draw up data management plans for the projects they implement. These documents address a wide range of issues relating to the harvesting, use, preservation and potential sharing of data, whatever the scientific field. They may also focus on the management of sensitive and/or personal data.

The aim of the training course is to present the tool ULIEGE has at its disposal to assist researchers in this task.

Skills developed

Participants will master DMPonline.be and, more generally, have a better understanding of the requirements they will have to meet in the near future. This training will also enable them to establish a dialogue with the central services responsible for providing them with adequate support.
