Ruhl 3D: from photogrammetric acquisition to holographic mediation of a 3D plan En présentiel
Gustave Ruhl, a lawyer by profession, is best known for his passion for archaeology and history. He distinguished himself by creating models of buildings, monuments and sometimes entire districts as they appeared in the past. Relief plans of districts in Cologne, Liège, Namur and Verviers are among the impressive documentation and numerous items he bequeathed to the University of Liège after his death in 1929.
Gustave Ruhl's most remarkable work is a model of the city of Liège as it looked around 1730, a 3D holographic version of which has been produced at ULiège as part of a major project. Animations in this 3D representation make it possible to compare the city of yesteryear with that of today, 300 years later.
At this conference, Prof. Pierre Hallot will present part of this important heritage enhancement project.
---------------------------------
